Air fryer pasta chips are a crispy, cheesy snack made with just a few simple ingredients. Ready in under 20 minutes, these chips are customizable to your dietary preferences and perfect for any occasion. Whether you’re using regular pasta or gluten-free options, this recipe delivers crunchy, golden chips that are a total crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups rigatoni or farfalle (bow-tie), regular, whole wheat, chickpea, or gluten-free pasta
  • 12 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the pasta (rigatoni works great) al dente, following the package instructions. Once cooked, strain the pasta and add it to a mixing bowl.
  2. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
  3. Toss the cooked pasta with olive oil, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and parmesan cheese. Ensure the pasta is fully coated.
  4. Place the pasta in the preheated air fryer basket and cook for 10–14 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Shake the basket halfway through cooking.
  5. Serve immediately with extra parmesan and fresh parsley. Enjoy as a snack, appetizer with marinara or pesto, or as a side dish.

Notes

  • Boiling the pasta first ensures it crisps up perfectly in the air fryer.
  • Avoid using long pasta like spaghetti, as it doesn’t crisp well in the air fryer.
  • Adjust the cooking time based on the pasta shape—rigatoni takes about 13 minutes, while smaller pasta shapes may cook in less time.
  • For a vegan version, substitute the parmesan cheese with nutritional yeast.
  • For gluten-free pasta chips, use your favorite gluten-free pasta.
