This slow cooker garlic butter beef bites recipe delivers rich, savory flavor with minimal effort. Tender chunks of beef stew meat and creamy baby Yukon gold potatoes are slow-cooked in a buttery, garlicky blend of spices, making it the ultimate comforting dinner for busy nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds beef stew meat
  • 1 ½ pounds baby Yukon gold potatoes
  • ½ cup butter, sliced into pads
  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped (or 1 ½ tbsp pre-minced)
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Cooking spray (for greasing slow cooker)

Instructions

  1. Lightly grease the inside of your slow cooker with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Arrange the beef stew meat on one side of the slow cooker and the baby potatoes on the other side. Do not mix.
  3. Sprinkle seasoned salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and black pepper evenly over both meat and potatoes.
  4. Top both sections with freshly chopped garlic.
  5. Distribute the butter pads evenly on top of the meat and potatoes to melt into a flavorful base.
  6. Cover with the lid and cook on low heat for 6 to 7 hours, or until the beef is fork-tender.
  7. Once cooked, stir gently and serve with your favorite sides like steamed vegetables or warm bread.

Notes

  • To spice things up, add red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper to the seasoning.
  • Baby red potatoes can be used instead of Yukon golds.
  • Check beef for tenderness before serving—if not tender enough, cook for another 30-60 minutes.
  • Leftovers store well in the fridge for 3–4 days in a sealed container.
  • This dish can be prepped the night before and refrigerated in the slow cooker insert.
