These Valentine’s Day Brownies are ultra fudgy with M&M’s and chocolate chips, perfect for celebrating love. They are simple to make and full of rich chocolate flavor, making them an irresistible treat for your special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup (115 grams) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 cup (200 grams) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (65 grams) all-purpose flour, spooned & leveled
  • 1/2 cup (45 grams) cocoa powder, sifted
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (95 grams) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup M&M’s

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil and spray lightly with cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, whisking until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it out evenly. Sprinkle the M&M’s over the top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges start to pull away and the center looks set. A toothpick inserted should come out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Let the brownies cool completely before slicing into squares.

Notes

  • Don’t overcook the brownies! The center should look slightly undercooked before you take them out of the oven, as they’ll firm up as they cool.
  • Let the brownies cool completely before slicing to ensure cleaner cuts and better texture.
  • If you prefer a different chocolate flavor, feel free to swap the semi-sweet chocolate chips for milk chocolate or dark chocolate.
  • Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to five days, or freeze them for up to three months.
